I’m making a series talking to writers of sci-fi and fantasy about the process, the industry, and the genre for Scififantasynetwork.com. I was hoping you would be interested in an interview of some form to talk about your own experiences as a writer. In the series we tend to also cover some broader topics such as representation and how writers change over time and with experience.
Child of a Hidden Sea is a wonderful book and was actually one of the first eBooks I ever bought (yes, I was a bit late to the game). I’m a bit of a fan of anything with pirates and so was sucked right into your world. Also, as this series of interviews focusses on issues like diversity, I was hoping this would be something you’d have a good perspective on. The fact that you have such a wide and diverse cast was incredibly encouraging.
We often conduct audio interviews over skype or Google Hang out, but if you prefer a text-only exchange, that too would be great. Hope to hear from you soon!
